All in all, the cochlear implantation is a very controversial debate that is continuously ongoing. Although there are good reasons brought up on both sides of the debate regarding why we should or should not encourage the use of cochlear implantations, the benefits of this surgery definitely outweighs reasons as to why we shouldn’t. There are many children across Canada that have engaged in this fully-funded implantation. As mentioned there are many different crucial components that are required to determine eligibility of the child that will ensure the greatest success for the child going through this life changing surgery.
As society continues to grow, technology would become a significant resource for everyone living in this world. Research would become more developed, and there will be more resources and options available for families with children with diverse needs. By having cochlear implants, it helps children better fit into today's society, it will give them the opportunity to live life as a typical child.
